Description

This is a 17th-century cottage located at the end of a row in Church Walk, Melksham. The cottage is constructed of painted rubble stone with a timber-framed gable end, and has a pantiled roof. Brick corner stacks are also present. The two-storey cottage originally had one window to the front, with a central door and a casement window to the left. The first floor originally had a single casement window. The gable end features timber framing on the first floor, incorporating casement windows to both the ground and first floors. An outshot is located to the rear. Inside, the cottage features chamfered ceiling beams. In the early 20th century, the rear of the building was used as a bakery.
