Description

Townsend Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on Headbrook in Kington. The building is constructed with roughcast rendering over a timber-frame and brick structure, and has a roof of graduated stone tiles, with a rubble ridge stack. It is a single-storey building with an attic and a cellar. The central right-hand side features a 20th-century plank door. To the right of the door is one 20th-century three-light casement window, and to the left, two. A small gable above has a 20th-century two-light casement window. On the returned right side, the building is timber-framed with jowled posts and brick infill, with a 20th-century casement window within a gable. The rear of the cottage features stone rubble, a buttress stack with a brick chimney, and a timber-frame and brick construction.
