Description
No 16 (The Vine House) and No 18 are two cottages that were originally one house, dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed of painted squared rubblestone and feature a double Roman tiled roof with rebuilt brick stacks. The front is symmetrical, with two stories and five windows.
No 16 has a six-fielded panelled door set in a finely moulded stone case with a semi-elliptical head and a flat stone hood supported by scrolled brackets. To the right of the door are two 2-light cyma mullioned windows, while to the left is one 2-light cyma mullioned window and an inserted door for No 18. There is a string course at the first floor level, which has five 2-light cyma mullioned windows, including one sash and one fixed window for each. The roof features one hipped dormer. At the rear, there is an outshot and a 20th-century extension.
