Description

A pair of cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on Church Walk in Melksham. The cottages are constructed of squared rubble stone with a double Roman tile roof supported by coped verges and brick stacks. They are two storeys high with a three-window front. The planked door to No. 7 has a chamfered case and a flat stone hood supported on brackets. The door to No. 9 has a staff-moulded case and an open pediment on brackets. The windows to the right of the doors are paired 12-pane sashes in plain stone cases with central mullions. A plat band runs along the first floor, and the first floor windows consist of two 12-pane sashes to the right and a casement to the left, all in plain stone cases. The interior features 20th-century fireplaces.
