Description
Berryfields Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. They are constructed from squared rubblestone and feature a double Roman tiled roof with coped verges and ashlar stacks. The cottages are two stories high and have four windows across the front. Each cottage has two planked doors that are sheltered by ashlar porches with gabled roofs. Flanking each door is a 2-light beaded mullioned window with casements. On the first floor, there are four 2-light beaded mullioned windows. The roof includes two gabled attic dormers. The sides of the cottages do not have windows, and the rear features the same 2-light beaded mullioned casement windows. Notably, No 612 has a 19th-century brick outshot. The interior has not been inspected. These cottages are a good example of a late 18th-century artisan dwelling that remains in unaltered condition.
