Description

The West End Public House, originally a farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of squared rubblestone and features a stone slate roof that is hipped to the right, with ashlar stacks that have moulded capping. The building has an L-plan layout, is two storeys tall with an attic, and has three windows on the front facade.

There is a door to the right of the center, set within a 20th-century gabled porch that has a stone slate roof. To the right of the door, there is a three-light cyma-mullioned window with 20th-century casements, while to the left are two three-light cyma-mullioned casements. The first floor has three three-light cyma-mullioned casements, and there are three hipped dormers with casements in the roof.

The right return of the rear wing has a chimney on the flush gable and features 20th-century cyma-mullioned windows on the ground floor and a two-light cyma-mullioned window on the first floor. The rear of the building has similar windows and a 20th-century flat-roofed extension that is of no special interest.

The interior has not been inspected. In front of the building, there are low rubblestone garden walls with flat coping that rise to plain gate piers on the front and right side.
