Description
No. 39 King Street is a house located at the end of a row, built in the late 18th century. It features an ashlar front with rubblestone sides and a brick rear. The half-hipped mansard roof is covered with stone slates on the upper pitch and Welsh slates on the lower pitch, with brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door set in a stone case, topped with a pediment supported by stone brackets. On either side of the door are pairs of 12-pane sash windows in a beaded case with a central mullion. There is a plat band at the first floor, with a central sash window framed in a shouldered architrave, and one pair of sash windows located in flat-headed dormers on the roof. At the rear, there is a brick wing that dates from the 19th century.
