Description

The Kings Head is an 18th-century public house situated on the west side of Abbey Road in Syresham. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, painted, with a slate roof and brick end and ridge stacks. It has a 3-unit plan and is arranged over two storeys and an attic, with a 5-window front. A central 4-panel door has a matching overlight, and to the left is a wide canted bay window. The right-hand side features 2-light casement windows with stop-chamfered lintels. The first floor has 16-pane horned sash windows with stop-chamfered timber lintels. Two gabled roof dormers are present. A 19th-century brick and stone 2-storey extension has been added to the right, containing a door, porch, and a tripartite sash window to both ground and first floors. Inside, the pub features an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
