Description

This milestone, located west of Dean Bottom, is a Grade II listed structure from the early 19th century. It is situated on the Marlborough to Wootton Bassett turnpike. The milestone is made of painted stone and features a half-cylindrical shaft with a grooved top. The left side has an incised inscription that reads "TO WOOTTON BASSETT 8 MILES," while the right side states "TO MARLBRO 4 MILES."
