Description
No. 6 Castle Street is a mid-19th century corner building adjacent to Court Street. It stands three storeys tall and features a three-by-three window arrangement. The exterior is constructed of painted brick, accented with a stone cornice, parapet, and lintels that are draughted as brick along Court Street. The building has late glazed sash windows, some of which have glazing bars on Court Street. The second floor facing Castle Street includes a mix of casement, sash, and blind windows. The corner shop front is distinguished by panelled pilasters and a round-headed doorway with an architrave on Castle Street. There is one door to the left on Castle Street and a central doorway that has been converted into a window. At the rear, there is a pantiled extension. Nos. 1 to 6 Castle Street, including 5A, are part of a group.
