Description

The Sun Public House is an early 19th-century building located on Castle Street. It stands three storeys tall and features three windows on its front, which is rendered. The building has a stone cornice and parapet, along with raised window surrounds. The windows are glazing bar sash types, with the second floor having smaller, square windows. The ground floor has a 20th-century wooden front that includes five pairs of Doric columns, three glazing bar windows with panels below, and a doorway on the right side, topped by a wide fascia. At the rear, there is a long two-storey brick extension. The Sun Public House is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 6 (consecutive) and 5A.
