Description
No 17 on Fore Street is a building dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, featuring a 3 and a half storey painted ashlar front. The building has an eaves cornice and a double roman tile roof with two dormers. There is a band above the first floor and a cill band below it. The facade includes two ranges of sash windows that have marginal glazing, raised flat surrounds with beaded inner edges, and moulded outer edges, with paired windows located on the right side. The ground floor has a modern shop front, and there is a lead rainwater pipe with a conical hopper on the left. A cellar is located below the building. Nos 15 to 18 on Fore Street form a group, with No 18 noted for its local interest.
