CHRISTIAN MALFORD MAIN ROAD ST 97 NE at NGR ST 980799 (north side) 5/144 Milestone about l00m south-west of drive to Swallett Farm II Milestone, late C18 or early C19, ashlar with flat-fronted base and top, on curved-fronted stem. Base inscribed 'To Oxford 43 miles'. stem inscribed 'To Wootton Bassett 7 miles To Swindon 13 miles' on left, and 'To Chippenham 7 miles' on right. Top face is hexagon with 'To Bath 20 miles' inscribed.
