Description

Great Ridgeway Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from circa 1700. It is built with roughcast render, ashlar dressings, and a hipped stone slate roof with rear stacks. The building is two storeys high, featuring a raised plinth, rusticated quoins, a moulded band, and a moulded eaves cornice. The front elevation has a three-window range of two-light hollow-moulded recessed mullion and transom windows with small-paned lights; hoodmoulds are present over the ground floor windows. A depressed-arched doorway is centrally positioned. The end walls are constructed with painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern. A north-east rear wing is of painted brick with a half-hipped north gable. It contains a casement pair to the first floor on the left and two casement pairs to the ground floor. A lower north addition has a segmental through-arch and a triple casement to the right, with a casement pair above.
