Description

Hope House is a house from the early 19th century, constructed of red brick with rubble stone end walls and a slate roof featuring end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-window range. The upper floor has twelve-pane sash windows with ashlar wedge lintels. The central entrance consists of a double door with an overlight, also featuring similar lintels. There are bay windows on each side, with a configuration of 4:16:4 panes, resting on ashlar bases. The east end wall is angled to align with the road. The rear wall, made of red brick, faces the disused Wilts and Berks Canal, and there is a squared rubble stone basement with sash windows.
