Description
The Jolly Trooper Public House is a building that originated as a house, dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of brick and stone, which has been colourwashed, and features a 20th-century tiled roof. The structure has three bays, with a round-headed entrance located in the central bay. There is a stack positioned between the second and third bays from the left, as well as a stack on the left gable. The building is adorned with 16 and 20-pane sash windows that have stone sills. Inside, there are deep chamfered spine beams. To the left end, there is a 19th-century cross wing that includes run-out chamfer stops. Additionally, there is a projecting rear stack at bay 1. The Jolly Trooper Public House holds group value with the nearby Market Cross and the Church of St. Mary.
