Description
The Frances Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, about 1 metre north of the vestry of the Church of St Nicholas. It dates from the late 18th century and features two fielded panels, reeded centre pilasters, quarter balusters, a cornice, and a fluted frieze leading to a moulded flat top. The monument bears an inscription dedicated to Edward Frances, who died in 1782. At the time of the survey in July 1986, the monument was overgrown with ivy.
