Description
A pair of semi-detached cottages located on Church Lane in North Bradley, dated 1735 as indicated by the inscribed datestones above the doors. The cottages are built of Flemish bond brick with a double Roman tiled roof and brick stacks. They are two storeys high with a four-window façade. Each cottage has a four-panelled door set within a cyma-moulded architrave, topped with a flat stone hood supported by brackets. There are three-light cyma-mullioned casement windows with relieving arches on either side of the doors. A dentil-detailed plat band runs along the first floor, above which are four further three-light cyma-mullioned casements. A sympathetic, one-bay addition in a matching style has been added to the left side of No. 51. The rear of the cottages features a mix of window types, including two-light, single-light, and three-light cyma-mullioned casements. Three 20th-century hipped dormers have been added to the rear roof of No. 51. The interiors were not inspected.
