Description

Willow Grove is a farmhouse that has been converted into a detached house and office. It dates from the 17th century and the late 19th century. The 17th-century section is built of dressed limestone at the west end, while the eastern part is constructed of English garden wall bond brick. The roof is tiled, and the 19th-century section features dressed limestone with a hipped Welsh slate roof and ashlar stacks with moulded cappings. The building is arranged in an L-plan and is two stories high with a three-window east front from the 19th century.

The central bay of the gabled front projects forward and contains a five-panelled door with a transom light above. On either side of the door are tripartite plate glass sashes with segmental heads and cornices. The first floor features three plate glass sashes and a plat band, with pilasters on the sides. The left side of the building has a two-storey canted bay with sashes, while the right side has a projecting stack and additional sashes.

At the rear, the 17th-century range includes a half-glazed door and a two-light 19th-century chamfered mullioned casement on the brick section to the right. To the left, there are two early 20th-century bulls eyes and a square bay with leaded casements. The first floor has three two-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casements to the left, with a string course above the lintels, and one two-light mullioned casement to the right with a dripstone. The rear of the 17th-century range has a lean-to extension and two-light mullioned casements on the first floor, one of which is blocked. The west gable end has a blocked mullioned casement and a blocked bull's eye.

Inside the 19th-century range, there are four-panelled doors and stairs with turned balusters. The 17th-century range features chamfered beams with ogee stops or run-outs.
