Description
The walls and gateway on the south side of the churchyard of the Church of St Nicholas were built in the 1860s, likely designed by T.H. Wyatt. They are constructed from coursed rubble stone topped with pitched limestone ashlar coping. The central gate features square chamfered ashlar gate piers adorned with roll mouldings and cusped ogee-shaped cappings. It includes a single cast iron scrolled gate and a cast-iron overthrow, although the lantern on top is missing. The end piers on both the left and right sides also have roll mouldings and cusped ogee cappings.
