Description
The Francis monument is a chest tomb located about 4 metres south-south-east of the chancel of the Church of St. Margaret on St Margaret's Road. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of Ham stone. The tomb features a moulded plinth on a stepped base, with one plain panel on each face and fluted pilasters on the sides. It has a moulded coved shallow hipped top with rounded leading edges. The monument commemorates Hugh Francis, who died in 1833.
