Description

The Francis monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, 3 metres south of the south transept of the Church of All Saints. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of Doulting stone. The tomb features a moulded base and plain ends with rectangular slate panels set into them. The flanks are adorned with reeded pilasters that also have oval slate panels set in. It has a thin flat top with moulded coving. The monument commemorates Grace Francis, who died in 1767, along with other members of her family.
