Description
Sandybank is a semi-detached cottage, likely originally two separate cottages, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from Cary stone rubble and features triple roll clay tile roofs with coped gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of four bays, with the first and second bays set at lower levels. The windows are leaded casement types of early design, with iron-framed opening lights; there are two-light windows in bays one and two, and three-light windows in bays three and four, all set beneath timber lintels. In the lower bay two, to the right of an unaligned window, there is a 20th-century fully glazed door also under a timber lintel. The front elevation displays many straight joints. The interior has not been seen. Sandybank is included in the listing primarily for its group and streetscape value, as it is located on an important corner.
