Description
Westholme and Avenue House is a pair of houses located at the end of a row, which were formerly one house. They were likely built in the early 19th century. The facade is made of Doulting ashlar, with Cary stone rubble on the returns. The roof is plain clay tiled, featuring stepped coped gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and three bays. The outer bays contain pairs of 12-pane sash windows, while the upper centre bay has a 16-pane window. All windows are set in plain surrounds with three-part keystoned lintels. The central entrance features a six-panel door with glazed toplights, framed by an architrave and topped with a pedimented hood supported by console brackets. There is a separate entrance to Avenue House located on the side, off Chapel Yard; this house occupies the northern section of the main house and includes an early 19th-century rear extension that was modified in the late 19th century. The interiors have not been seen.
