Description

Silver Ash is a detached house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of red brick in Flemish bond and is colourwashed, topped with a Welsh slate roof that features stepped coped gables and brick end chimney stacks. The house has an 'L' plan and stands two storeys high with three bays.

The front facade includes sash windows with 12 panes set in plain openings, complete with stone cills and gauged brick flat arches. The central bay features a six-flush-panel door, with the top two panels glazed, framed by a plinthed architrave and topped with a pedimented hood supported by false corbel brackets, accessed by four steps.

On the south gable, there is a lower one-bay extension with a clay tiled roof. This extension has a 4-pane sash window above and below, there is a chamfered projection with a hipped Welsh slate roof, a central door, and 12-pane sashes set in splays. The extension is noted to be in poor condition as of January 1985. There is also a later extension at the rear of the house. The interior has not been seen.
