Description

This is a range of four cottages, originally five, dating to the late 18th century. They are constructed of random rubble Cary stone, with a hipped Welsh slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The cottages have two storeys and a total of six bays, with Tudor Cottage occupying bays one and two, and Dene Cottage bays five and six. The windows are timber casements with three leaded lights, and central iron-framed opening lights, mostly with external vertical iron bars. A six-panel door with architrave and a pediment hood supported by console brackets is located between bays one and two. To the right of each remaining bay are simple doors of various patterns in plain openings, with the doors to bays five and six being part-glazed, the latter now disused. All openings, with the exception of the Tudor Cottage doorway, have flat, voussoir arched features. The interiors were not inspected.
