Description

This is a pair of two-story cottages located on Castle Street. They were originally built in the 17th century, with timber framing visible at the rear. The front of the cottages was refaced in white brick around 1840-1850. The roofs have a steep pitch and are covered with old tile, punctuated by two flat-roofed dormers. Eaves boards are present. Each cottage has one window on each floor, featuring large, three-light wooden casement windows. One window has been altered, and the ground floor windows are set within deep stucco arches. The front doors, located at either end of the front elevation, are four-panelled and have plain doorcases and cornices. Numbers 124 to 128 (even) and 132 to 144 (even) form a group.
