Description

The screen wall, rails, and gates at the entrance to Hussey's Almshouses were built in 1594. The structure features red brick walls topped with stone coping, with plain rails alongside tall brick piers that are stone dressed and capped with gables. The design includes a scrolled overthrow and ornate iron gates that date from around 1875. Hussey's Almshouses, numbered 1 to 14 consecutively, form a group with this entrance feature.
