Description

Hussey's Almshouses, consisting of Numbers 1 and 2, were founded in 1794 and rebuilt in 1875. They are a semi-detached pair that are part of a group of almshouses. The buildings are designed in a free Tudor style and feature one storey with attics. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings and quoins. The gables are adorned with saddlestones and finials, and there are slit attic windows. The ground floor casements have stone dressings, and the pointed arched doors are complemented by decorated iron hinges. Numbers 1 to 14 of Hussey's Almshouses form a cohesive group.
