Description
Nos 59 to 65, Rampart Road are a group of late 18th-century red-brick cottages, which have been altered. Number 65 has a rough-cast exterior. The cottages have steep-pitched, hipped roofs covered in old tiles. Each cottage originally had a dormer window, with Number 65 originally having two (reflecting its former use as two houses), each dormer featuring a hipped roof and a two-light casement window. Numbers 59 to 63 each have one window, with recessed sash windows and 19th-century glazing. The doors are plain. Number 65 has two windows on the first floor with later sash glazing and altered ground-floor windows; one window has six panes, and the other has twelve panes, both with lintels above. The central door is of six fielded panels, with a plain case and shaped brackets supporting a small hood, suggesting a former shop frontage.
Nos 59 to 65 (odd) form a group with Nos 94 to 96 Milford Hill.
