Description

MILFORD STREET 1. 1594 (South Side) - No 56 28.2.52. No 58 SU 1429 NE 4/203 II 2. Late C18. 3 storeys red brick recasing probably of Cl6/C17 timber frame. Bands between storeys. Old tile roof. Formerly had bracketed cornice. Brick parapet. 4 windows to upper floors, no glazing bars, flush architrave frames, painted keystones. 2 similar sashes to left hand on ground floor and Victorian shop front with heavy panelled pilasters, 2 light window, fascia flanked by console brackets. Late C18/early C19 extension to right hand, 3 storeys red brick. One window each floor 2 light casements to lst and 2nd floors, the latter leaded. 3 light casement on ground floor and doorway to passage. Rear elevation is rendered with 2 half nipped gables. Traces of timber framing in passage. Interior has late C16 plaster ceiling and Cl7 oak panelling.
