Description
No. 42 Milford Street is an early 18th-century building that stands three stories tall. It features a red brick façade above a rusticated stucco ground floor. The building has a moulded and coved stucco eaves cornice and is topped with a hipped old tile roof. On the second floor, there are two windows with architrave frames. The first floor boasts a large central angular bay that has a panelled apron, an architrave frame, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice at the top, with an ogee-shaped lead roof that ends in a half sphere on the wall. The bay contains a wide central window with four panes. The ground floor has two heavily barred windows in moulded frames and a six-panel door with an architrave surround on the right side. To the left, there is a large brick chimney with grouped square shafts and brick offsets. Nos. 42 to 46 Milford Street form a cohesive group.
