Description
Nos 124 to 128 on Castle Street are a row of three cottages built around 1800. They are two storeys high, constructed of red brick with grey headers, and feature a steeply pitched gable end roof covered in old tiles. The cottages have three flat-roofed dormers that are irregularly spaced. Each cottage has one window on the upper floor, with Nos 124 and 126 having two-light wood casements. On the ground floor, Nos 124 and 126 feature three-light wood casements set under cambered brick arches, while No 128 has a former small shop front with a three-light window that includes a central casement, glazing bars, and a frame supported by pilasters, topped with a frieze and cornice. The doors to Nos 124 and 126 are six-panel doors, while No 128 has a plank door. All doors have plain doorcases with small entablatures. This row of cottages is part of a larger group that includes Nos 132 to 144.
