3/152 Gazebo in gardens to left of Shaw House entrance front

GV II

Gazebo. Mid C19; possibly contemporary with 1840's wing of house (q.v.). Brick with ashlar detail and stone slate hipped roof. Square, Classical-style. Central door with 2 rusticated ashlar pilasters either side. Semi-circular arch over door with keystone. Moulded cornice and plain parapet with urn finial same as on Dutch gable of 1840's wing of house (q.v.) Ball finial to roof. 2 elliptical headed pane sashes to rear. Interior: fireplace to left. Moulded plaster panels. Polychrome tiled floor.
