Description
The gazebo, located in the gardens to the left of the entrance front of Shaw House, dates from the mid-19th century and is possibly contemporary with the 1840s wing of the house. It is constructed of brick with ashlar detailing and features a stone slate hipped roof. The structure is square and designed in a Classical style. It has a central door flanked by two rusticated ashlar pilasters, with a semi-circular arch above the door that includes a keystone. A moulded cornice and a plain parapet with an urn finial, similar to the Dutch gable of the 1840s wing of the house, are present. The roof is topped with a ball finial. At the rear, there are two elliptical-headed pane sashes. Inside, there is a fireplace on the left, moulded plaster panels, and a polychrome tiled floor.
