Description

This is an early to mid-19th century brick terrace row, comprising three and one windows respectively for numbers 11 and 12 Church Walk. The buildings are constructed from red brick with stone surrounds to the sash windows; number 11 retains glazing bars in its windows, while number 12 has plate glass. A stone dividing strip separates the two properties, and number 12 has been painted. Number 11 has a pantile roof, while number 12 features a slate roof. Number 11 has a wide shop front dating from the early 20th century, featuring a modern wide fascia and two doorways. Number 12 has a mid-19th century shop front with three lights and a continuous fascia, including a doorway to the left. This doorway is distinguished by reeded pilaster strips and a patterned, rectangular fanlight.

Numbers 11 and 12, Church Walk form part of a group with St James’s Parish Church, the listed tombs, the Old Vestry Rooms, and numbers 46 to 48, Fore Street. Numbers 2 and 7 Church Walk are also noted as being of local interest.
