Description
This is a row of three terrace houses, located at 19, 21, and 23 Worcester Street, Gloucester. They were built in 1825 and have undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The houses are constructed of red brick with stone detailing; the front of number 19 has been painted. They have slate roofs and brick stacks, and are built on a double-depth block with rear wings.
The front elevation is three storeys high, featuring a stone-coped parapet. Numbers 19 and 21 have 20th-century shop fronts. Number 23 retains its original doorway, which incorporates a rectangular fanlight with margin glazing, and a fielded six-panel door. To the right of the original doorway is a late 19th-century shop front, framed by pilasters and a fascia with consoles at each end. The first floor of number 19 now has a three-light window installed in the mid-20th century, replacing two former sashes. The first and second floors of numbers 21 and 23 each retain two sashes. All the sashes on the first and second floors are set within flat-arched heads constructed of five raised-and-stepped voussoirs, and have projecting stone sills. The sashes originally contained 3x4 small panes of glazing. The interior has not been inspected.
