Description

This barn, located south of Manor Farmhouse in Bishops Cannings, dates from the early 19th century. It is timber framed and features corrugated iron cladding and roofing. The structure consists of six bays, with aisles on both sides. The third bay is wider, allowing for a cart entrance beneath the raised eaves on both sides. The barn has tie beam trusses with braces connecting to the posts and arcade plate, along with struts to the principals that support the mounted double purlins. Notably, the aisle framing on the south side has been partly replaced with brickwork.
