Description

The Sloper monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 6 metres south of the chancel. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a corniced table and a moulded base, with panelled ends and centre pilasters that have rosettes separating raised shields. It commemorates William Sloper, although the date of his death is not legible, along with his family, including his wife who died in 1797.
