Description

Two conjoined houses stand in a row on Church Street, Market Lavington. Dating to the 18th century, they were refaced in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of diaper brickwork with a pantiled roof. Each house is two storeys high, with an attic and cellars, and has three bays. Number 8 retains a central 4-panelled door, accessed by three steps, with a flat canopy supported by brackets. Flanking the front door on the ground floor are 20-paned sash windows. The upper floor of Number 8 has four-paned sash windows, and the central window has been blocked. A dormer window is present, featuring a flat roof. Number 10 is similar in appearance, but has a 20th century door on its side, and 16-paned sash windows with rendered lintels to the ground floor. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
