Description
Nos 3 and 5 on White Street are a pair of houses built in the early to mid-19th century. They feature an ashlar limestone facade over greensand rubble and have a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and consist of three bays. The left bay includes a late 19th-century shopfront with a glazed door and a fascia supported by consoles. The centre bay, which is No 3, has a half-glazed door, while the right bay has a cranked back to follow the street line, featuring a replaced flush door and a rectangular decorative overlight. The upper floor has twelve-paned sash windows, and there is a cornice and parapet along the top. At the rear, there are tall eight-paned sash windows, and a roughcast rear extension with a flat roof is located behind the shop.
