Description

This is a house situated in a row, likely dating from the 16th century with subsequent work in the 18th century. The exterior is greensand, with a diaper brick facade featuring flush stone quoins and a greensand sill. It has a tiled roof. The house is two storeys high, with a cellar, and comprises three bays. The layout includes a central stair hall.

The symmetrical front elevation features a central boarded door within an ashlar doorcase, decorated with ogee moulding. Above the door is a small brick arch with a keystone. There are two-light flush stone framed windows with similar mouldings and timber-paned glazing, each with a flat brick arch and keystone. A mid-wall moulded stone string runs along the elevation. The roof is hipped. A rear wall retains a single three-light hollow moulded stone window with a label, seemingly in its original position.

Inside, the house contains an 18th-century staircase with turned balusters, and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops in the flanking rooms.
