Description
The Sloper monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 18 metres south-west of the south aisle of the Church of the Holy Cross. It dates from the early 19th century and features slab sides with baluster angles, a fluted frieze, and a moulded cornice. There is a low relief panel between two plaques on the south side. The north side has an oval plaque with plant sprays on each side, and the east end bears an inscription to Sarah Sloper, who died in 1846.
