Description
The churchyard gate piers and gates date from 1812 and are located on Church Lane in Seend. They consist of two corniced ashlar piers with reeded angles and incised lozenge decoration. These piers support an iron overthrow featuring a lamp. The gates are a pair of spearhead iron gates that include a quatrefoil frieze above the dog-bars, with the top rails ramped down to the center and urn finials on both the center and outer uprights. There are also similar spearhead rails on the kissing-gate to the left. The gates were made by J. Burt of Devizes.
