Description
The gate piers, front wall, and garden walls at Manor House, located along High Street and Church Lane, date from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick with ashlar coping. In front of the Manor House, there is a low wall situated between two pairs of early 19th-century pyramid-capped ashlar gate piers. Beyond the east gate pier, the wall rises and continues for about 70 meters as a high garden wall, with a corner to Church Lane that was rebuilt on a splay in the 20th century. The wall then ramps down and extends approximately 95 meters along Church Lane, where it ramps up by the churchyard gate. A section along the north side of the churchyard is not included in the listing. The section along Church Lane is significant for framing the view of the church.
