Description

Batts Farmhouse is a 17th and 18th century farmhouse. Originally timber-framed, it now has a brick facade with a tiled roof. The gable end displays exposed timber framing on the first floor, above a brick and flint ground storey. The farmhouse is two storeys high with three bays, and has been extended to the left to create a four-bay arrangement. The entrance is located within an enclosed porch in the third bay, opposite a stack which forms a lobby entry. Windows are timber, with two and three lights and segmental heads. Diagonal braces are visible on the first-floor framing of the gable. A rear lean-to has been added. The roof is half-hipped on the right. The interior is said to have a timber-framed gable wall between bays two and three.
