Description
Road Farmhouse is a 17th-century building that has been altered and extended. It features a timber frame that is cased in brick, with the front elevation rendered and painted. The roof has tiles on the lower right section and slates on the left, with an old brick stack located in the center. The farmhouse is two storeys high, and the 19th-century part on the left incorporates some of the older structure. There is a central door situated in an open gabled porch, with cross casements on each side and two similar windows on the first floor. The right-hand section is set back and has one casement window on each floor, along with a small lean-to projection on the left and a modern gabled wing on the right. The rear elevation is made of 18th-century brick and features an old three-light leaded casement window on the first floor. Inside, the farmhouse has exposed timber-framing with curved braces in both the walls and the roof.
