Description
Nos 11 and 12 Southgate are a pair of cottages dating from the late 18th and early 19th century, situated on the southern approach to Devizes. They are part of a group of similar cottages. No 11 has a blocked doorway. The cottages are two storeys high, built of red brick on a rendered plinth. They are lower than Nos 5 to 10 and slightly later in date. They have two windows, with 2-light and 3-light 19th-century casements in flush frames. The ground floor windows have cambered heads and segmental brick arches. The front door has four flush panels, two of which are glazed, and it is topped with a hood supported by shaped brackets. Nos 5 to 15 (consec) form a group.
