Description
27 Long Street is a late 18th-century building that stands three storeys high, with an attic and cellars. It is constructed of brick and features chamfered quoins. The building has a projecting plinth with splayed stone coping and stone strings above the windows on each floor. The brick parapet is topped with four moulded stone panels and moulded stone coping. The roof is hipped and covered with stone tiles, with slate on the sides, and includes one dormer.
The second floor has three windows, each four panes wide and three panes high. The first floor has three windows, each four panes wide and five panes high. The ground floor features two windows, each four panes wide and four panes high. All windows have stone surrounds. There are also two cellar grilles.
The central entrance door has five panels, with the top panel glazed and featuring an intersecting circular pattern. This door is set in a moulded stone surround and is sheltered by a Roman Doric porch supported by two columns, with wall pilasters and an entablature that includes a triglyph and rosette frieze.
The building is part of a group that includes Nos 8 to 30 Long Street.
