Description
No. 26 Long Street is a late 19th-century building located on a corner site that includes No. 33 Bridewell Street. It stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick on a stone plinth, with stone quoins. The building features a stone cornice and coping at the parapet, topped by a pantile roof. Its design mimics the 18th-century character of nearby houses, with the only notable external difference being the stop-chamfered internal angles of the stone window heads, which have cornices above them, and a less impressive door. The upper floors have three windows, while the ground floor has two windows flanking the entrance. The façade facing Bridewell Street is similar but has four windows, with three of them grouped to the left as part of No. 33. This corner site is considered important. Nos. 8 to 30 Long Street form a group with this building.
