Description
Nos. 11 and 12 Birds Green are a pair of cottages, likely built in the late 18th century. They are two storeys high and feature two windows. The cottages are timber-framed and plastered, topped with a hipped thatched roof and an axial chimney made of 19th-century gault brick.
No. 11 has 18th-century three-light windows with wrought-iron casements, and the ground floor window is fitted with boarded shutters. The entrance door of No. 11 dates from the 18th or early 19th century and has four fielded panels, topped with a simple pediment supported by console brackets and finished with a spike finial. In contrast, No. 12 has mid-20th-century windows, and its entrance doorway has been blocked. The cottages are included for their group value.
